Cynthia Esseichick has been a Holistic Health Practitioner in Ann Arbor since 1990.
Cynthia is Nationally Board Certified in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Traditional Oriental Medicine, and is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Cornell University, and a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine, from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, where she graduated first in her class, and received the Valedictorian award for distinguished academic achievement.
Cynthia received her Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Dipl. OM) from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She holds a Clean Needle Certification from the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM).
During her four-year academic program in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Western biomedicine, Cynthia completed a three-year Clinical Internship at Pacific College, where she successfully treated patients for acute and chronic pain, infertility, migraine, insomnia, gynecological and menopausal symptoms (PMS, hot-flashes), and gastrointestinal, respiratory, and orthopedic disorders.
Cynthia also completed a 14-month Clinical Internship at the Whole Women, Whole Health Program in the Breast Care Center at Mercy Hospital, Chicago. There she provided adjunct care and support for breast cancer survivors, using acupuncture to relieve the side effects of surgical scarring, medication, chemotherapy, and radiation.
For the past 19 years, Cynthia has worked as a Neuromuscular and Myofascial Therapist at Ann Arbor Healing Arts. In addition to Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, her work incorporates Trigger Point Therapy, Cranio-sacral Therapy, Polarity Therapy, Shiatsu, Deep-tissue Massage, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, and gentle stretching. Sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Cynthia is especially interested in orthopedics, pain elimination, oncology support, men's and women's health, gynecology, and fertility.
